KlopeJade Klope, from Paducah, KY, is in her Junior year at SIU working toward a degree in Anthropology and was awarded the Nick and Kimberly Calamos Scholarship in 2015. Her focus is in Mesoamerican archaeology, and plans on completing her PhD.  When she is not at school, she is busy being a mom to her two daughters, and running her home based floral design business. “I have owned my own business for over five years now, but I was just not fulfilled by it on a personal level. I needed to do more to satisfy myself, and I am forever grateful to have been given the opportunity to do just that. Going back to school was a huge lifestyle change, but I have found my tribe, and renewed my passions.”
